Gary Knosher

Board Member

Gary has over 35 years of experience at Midwest Groundcovers, having held many positions including Propagator; Production Manager; Sales & Marketing Manager; Operations Manager; and has been serving as Midwest Groundcover’s President since 2001. As President, he is responsible for the entire nursery operation, including production, sales and finance. He is also responsible for the maintenance and construction of the facility. Gary specializes in plant propagation, production, nursery construction and nursery management. He is a past President of the Ornamental Growers Association (OGA), as well as a past Board Member of International Plant Propagators Society (IPPS) Eastern Region, Wholesale Nursery Growers of America (WNGA) and Midwest Invasive Plant Network (MIPN). He currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Invasive Species Woody Initiative of the Great Lakes Region, and is a member of the Illinois Invasive Species committee. Gary is also on the Executive Committee of the Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) and will be the president for this group in 2020. Gary is an ICN Pro and received the International Plant Propagators Fellows Award.
